Organise it … kids morning checklist
These white-boards have been a sanity saver in our house, especially in Term 1 of each school year as everyone gets to grip with a new school timetable. These A4 sized whiteboards can be picked up cheaply, and will pay for themselves in no time … all you need to do before the children get up in the morning is write down their priorities before you leave for the day. It may include some things they need to remember to do each day (but consistently forget, like taking vitamins in our house) or a chore, or even remembering their homework. Banking and piano books always feature on specific days at our house. This works well for us because the kids just love ticking things off their list (don’t we all), and I just love it because its one less thing I need to remember, and now I find the mornings much less stressful for everyone. Things are definitely more organised in the mornings (and there is a lot less yelling) since we introduced the morning checklist (as required I will create an afternoon checklist as well).
